EuroMaint first in Sweden with ECM certification for hazardous goods

10 June 2013 CATEGORY: EuroMaint Rail, Pressmeddelande

Euromaint is the first in Sweden to be given ECM certification for the maintenance of freight wagons designed for hazardous goods.

Euromaint was given an ECM certificate for the workshop in Landskrona. The certificate, which applies to the maintenance of freight wagons, also includes the maintenance of tanker carriers and other freight wagons designed for hazardous goods. This means that Euromaint’s workshop in Landskrona is the first in Sweden to hold an ECM certificate that also covers freight wagons designed for hazardous goods.

“Euromaint is very proud to be the first in Sweden with ECM certification that includes the maintenance of freight wagons designed for hazardous goods. The ECM certificate is important to our customers, and I am pleased that we can now offer certified maintenance at our Landskrona workshop. This is yet another stamp of quality on what we offer,” says Ulf Norberg, Freight Account Manager, EuroMaint Rail Sweden.

Euromaint’s German operation already has a number of ECM certifications, which has helped in our work to obtain certification for the Landskrona workshop.

“We have worked closely with Euromaint's German operation during the certification process. This was valuable to us as they have already been through the process of ECM certifications of this type,” says Paul Cedwall, Production Technician and the person responsible for the certification process at Euromaint's Landskrona workshop.

ECM in brief
European Commission regulation no. 445/2011, the “ECM regulation”, relates to the certification system for all entities responsible for the maintenance of freight wagons (ECMs) on the EU’s rail networks. For more information about ECMs, please see www.transportstyrelsen.se.

The workshop has German VPI certification and ECM certification. The operation is also certified in accordance with ISO 9001 and 14001, as well as EN15085 (the welding standard for railways).  The workshop consists of four sections of track of approximately 60 metres, one indoor track of 28 metres and a separate track area outdoors.
