Green Cargo is signing an agreement with EuroMaint Rail for the maintenance of electric and diesel locomotives.
The agreement involves continuing close collaboration between the companies and constitutes the largest single contract for the maintenance of rolling stock for freight in Sweden.
The assignment covers preventive and corrective maintenance of rolling stock, component servicing and spare parts management. Within the framework for the collaboration, EuroMaint Rail also offers technical consultancy services as well as refurbishment and modification of rolling stock. The maintenance is performed at 11 workshops, from Luleå in the north to Malmö in the south.
"Green Cargo needs access to locomotive workshops across the whole country, in order to maintain high operational reliability. In EuroMaint Rail, we have an experienced partner for maintenance, with technical specialist competence, with whom we have signed a flexible agreement," says Mikael Stöhr, CEO, Green Cargo.
"I am happy that we have formalised our collaboration with Green Cargo. As said, it is a question of the single largest maintenance agreement in the freight traffic segment in Sweden - an assignment that secures many jobs at our workshops and it means we can continue to take the lead with regards to efficient maintenance of locomotives for freight," says EuroMaint Rail's CEO, Petter Arvidson.
The agreement that has now been signed is valid until 2012, with the option for a further two years' extension.
