EuroMaint Rail has signed a contract with SJ to overhaul 15 RC6 locomotives. The commission also includes modifications of the locomotive’s driver space for increased driver comfort.
The overhauls consist of ‘R4’ overhauls, which involve extensive technical maintenance of the locomotives and their sub-systems. Along with the overhaul, modification work will also be carried out, including the replacement of driver seats and other equipment. The locomotives will also be re-painted black in accordance with SJ’s new design programme.
The locomotive overhauls will be carried out at EuroMaint Rail’s locomotive workshop in Örebro, starting in January 2010.
