EuroMaint Rail has signed a contract with Siemens A/S in Denmark for the maintenance of 36 electric locomotives for cross-border freight transport between Sweden, Denmark and Germany on behalf of DB Schenker Scandinavia.
“In EuroMaint Rail, we have an independent, complete maintenance partner with strategically located workshops, which contributes to us being able to offer our customers the reliability and availability they demand,” comments service manager Kim Boegelund at Siemens A/S.
The contract with Siemens A/S relates to maintenance of 13 Siemens EG locomotives and 23 TRAXX locomotives.
“It is pleasing that EuroMaint Rail has been commissioned to maintain the EG locomotives again, as well as the TRAXX locomotives now. The assignment involves a strengthening of the partnership between EuroMaint Rail and Siemens A/S, a partnership which has all the conditions to grow with time. This assignment is also a good example of how our extensive experience of availability-based maintenance solutions can also benefit players in the freight transport market,” says Mats Önner, CEO of EuroMaint Rail.
The contract, which comes into force on 1 January 2010, includes the traffic maintenance carried out in Sweden and runs for 5 years, with an option for extension. The maintenance will be performed at EuroMaint Rail’s workshops in Malmö and Hallsberg.
