EuroMaint Rail is signing a four-year contract for maintenance of Stockholm Public Transport’s (SL) entire fleet of track-mounted work machines.
“This is a very important contract for us and it feels particularly good to know that SL thinks so highly of our experience, skills and business management. We have more than 35 years’ experience of maintenance for all manner of work machines for track and overhead cable work,” says Gustav Jansson, Business Area Manager at EuroMaint Rail.
The commission from SL means that EuroMaint Rail will now be able to establish activities for traffic maintenance of work machines in the Stockholm area. The company will take over personnel from the previous supplier Tågia and will rent workshop premises and some equipment from SL. More extensive maintenance assignments may also be undertaken at EuroMaint Rail’s workshop in Åmål, which focuses on maintenance and refurbishment of work machines as well as associated electronic and hydraulic equipment.
“The contract with SL signifies a breakthrough for EuroMaint Rail. In terms of maintenance for track-mounted work machines, our list of customers now includes, in addition to infrastructure providers and machine manufacturers, one of the most important public transport principals in Sweden,” says Gustav.
The contract with SL includes all track-mounted work machines for maintenance of tracks and tunnels in the underground, tram and commuter train systems, as well as the narrow-gauge Roslagsbanan railway. The contract comes into force on 2 November and runs for four years, with a two-year extension option.
“EuroMaint Rail has recently signed a number of important contracts in Sweden and Norway that have helped to increase the company’s turnover attributable to maintenance of work machines for track and overhead cable work by almost 65 %. A strong home market and good cooperation with rolling stock manufacturers are important for us, as our future growth within maintenance of track-mounted work machines mainly lies abroad,” explains Mats Önner, CEO of EuroMaint Rail.
