EuroMaint Industry is building a new engine laboratory for the development of testing methods for car and commercial vehicle engines.

The laboratory is being built in the company’s existing premises in Skövde, and is expected to be completed during autumn 2011.

Constantly increasing demands in respect of cost-effectiveness and the environment have resulted in engine manufacturers having a growing need to develop tests for engines. The trend is towards the introduction of more tests during the production process, both at component level and for partially assembled engines. Deficiencies are identified earlier, and there is less need for expensive hot tests on completed engines.

“When the laboratory is finished, our customers will be able, quickly and efficiently, to adapt and develop test methods and test equipment for both existing and new engine variants. The aim is for us to be able to work more closely with our customers and to be more proactive in the development of new methods and concepts for engine testing in production,” says Patrik Sahlberg, Business Area Manager at EuroMaint Industry.

For many years, EuroMaint Industry has developed and supplied equipment for the verification of engines in production for customers in countries such as the USA, India, Japan and Europe.

“These global collaborations have resulted in us achieving a strong position and acquiring a growing number of customers within engine testing,” concludes Patrik Sahlberg.
