These operations currently employ 20 people, who carry out maintenance work at Fortum Värme’s power and heating plants.
The takeover will involve EuroMaint Industry establishing itself in Stockholm and strengthening its presence within a strategically important customer segment.
“We are incredibly pleased that Fortum intends to put its confidence in us to continue operations. We will gain 20 certified welders with many years’ experience of skilled maintenance assignments within the power and energy industry," comments Nicklas Falk, CEO of EuroMaint Industry.
EuroMaint Industry has excellent experience of expanding into new regions and within complementary areas of business through takeover and development of existing operations. In January 2009, EuroMaint Industry took over a team of around 60 people at Husqvarna’s maintenance and tool operations in Huskvarna, and, in June 2009, it acquired the EISAB maintenance company in Vänersborg.
“It’s good that we were able to find a suitable partner for the sheet metal, welding and forging operations. EuroMaint Industry has experience of taking over operations similar to this, and with their specialisation in maintenance, I see great scope for the development of personnel and a good cooperation in the future,” comments Peter Liebscher, project manager for the assignment at Fortum Värme.
"By taking over operations from Fortum Värme and establishing in Stockholm, we will be moving closer to interesting companies in Mälardalen with our maintenance and operational reliability services. We will also be gaining important expertise within maintenance and licensed welding for customers within industries that are increasingly important to us,” says Falk.
A final agreement between EuroMaint Industry and Fortum is expected to be ready during May, with the aim of completing the takeover by 1 June, 2010.
